Choosing a Dollshouse

We are often asked, "Please could you send me any info you have that will assist me in either making or purchasing a dollshouse and it's contents.?"

I can give you plenty of help and advice both in making a house of your own and in buying a ready made house.

The most enjoyable way to build a dollshouse is, in my opinion either to build one from a kit, or to build it yourself from a plan. GreenWoods Creations does offer plans, but unfortunately it is not always easy to obtain pictures of the finished article, line drawings may be available on application. Furnishing the house depends on which style and era you choose. Again I would recommend building furniture purchased in kit form as this is much more satisfying than 'ready made'. Click the link below to view the many styles of furniture GreenWoods Creations has to offer.

I would recommend that a dollshouse be made of quality ply wood (cabinet quality is one of the best) in preference to MDF (medium density fibre) as this has a tendency to warp. It can be less expensive, when building the dollshouse to buy fixatives from your local DIY store (No-Nails is brilliant) also using up left over paint from your own home is very cost effective.

Every dollshouse needs people to live within it. The nicest dolls, baby prams etc, in my opinion, are made by Heidi Ott. Click the link below to view the selection offered by GreenWoods Creations. I have attached pictures of some of our more sought after dollshouses, these come in kit form with an additional components set which comprises of doors, windows, staircase, chimneys, hinges etc which you would need to finish the dollshouse. Please note that some of these kits are only available to order, so please allow extra time for delivery.
